Biography
I.O. Dudka was born in Kharkov (Ukraine) in 1934, December, 4. She graduated from Kiev State University named after T. Schevchenko, Biological Faculty in 1957. In 1959 she entered in post-graduate studentship of Mycological Department in M.G. Kholodny Institute of Botany, National Academy of Science of Ukraine.. In 1965 she supported her PhD thesis dealing with the aquatic fungi of Kiev Polessye and from that time till now worked in M.G. Kholodny Institute (from 1972 as Head of Mycological Department, 1982-1989 as Deputy Director). In 1978 she defended the work devoted to aquatic hyphomycetes (Ingoldian fungi) on the scientific degree of DrSci, in 1986 got Professor’s title, in 2009 was elected as corresponding member in NASU. During the last decades she studied fungi-like organisms (peronosporomycetes and myxomycetes) and simultaneously worked out the scientific bases of industrial cultivation of edible mushrooms. I.O. Dudka is rewarded with M.G. Kholodny’s prize (1982), three State prizes of Ukraine in the fields of science and technics (1983, 1990, 2005) and order “For Merits†of 3rd degree (2012). As scientific supervisor she trained 31 PhD and as scientific advisor – 2 DrSci.
