Biography
Dr. Charles W. Bacon was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida. He earned his B.S. degree in biology and chemistry at Clark College, Atlanta, GA, and his Ph.D. degree in Fungal Physiology from the University of Michigan. Dr. Bacon joined the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Athens, Georgia where he presently serves as the Research Leader and Supervisory Microbiologist, as well as an adjunct professor of plant pathology at the University of Georgia. He serves on three editiorial boards, has published more than 500 papers and chapters, and has edited four books on the biology of microbial endophytes.
